As a teenager, Johann Korec worked in the country as a farmhand and a herder, but he dreamt of taking care of animals in a circus. Committed at the age of twenty-one, he began his artistic production at the House of Artists in the psychiatric hospital of Gugging. He has developed an original technique : he picks up newspapers and cuts out illustrations that he then traces, sometimes using several carbon copies for the same drawing. As a second step, he adds sexual attributes to the previously traced figures. Sexual act is at the heart of his narrative. But his work also develops around writing, which has become more important over time, blending with the drawing to form one undividable whole.
