A gardener in Montevideo, he draws the rest of his time. With no art education, he creates his first drawings using a ruler, markers, pens and pencils on any media he can get hold of, like the back of an Almanac. Alexandro Garcia’s ethereal visions of meticulous design combine fantastic cities – floating or about to leap into the infinite - with clusters of constellations coming to meet them. His work thus treats the question of another space offered to our projections and the colonization of a new humanity: "We are not alone." His work is closer to mediumistic art in the sense that it results from forces of which he is only an instrument: "I am a channel absorbing the messages of the universe."
